Instant Checkmate Opt Out: Remove and Delete Your Info

To opt out of Instant Checkmate, open the PeopleConnect Suppression Center at suppression.peopleconnect.us, verify your email address, then enter your date of birth and full legal name. Find your record, set its Desired Behavior to Suppressed, and save. Because Instant Checkmate is a PeopleConnect brand, one suppression also covers TruthFinder, Intelius, and US Search.

The trap

Nearly every guide sends you to the Instant Checkmate opt-out form and stops there. That clears one site and leaves your record published on three sister sites running the same data, so you search your name a week later and find yourself on TruthFinder instead. The method

Instant Checkmate opt-out, step by step

Medium, but it is the best-value opt-out on the list: the same ten minutes clears four background-check sites at once, because they share one back end.

  1. 01 Use the suppression center, not just the opt-out page

    Instant Checkmate has its own form at instantcheckmate.com/opt-out, and it works. The problem is scope. Instant Checkmate is owned by PeopleConnect, which also runs TruthFinder, Intelius, and US Search on the same data. The central portal at suppression.peopleconnect.us is the one that reaches the whole family, so start there instead.

  2. 02 Enter your email and continue

    Open suppression.peopleconnect.us, enter an email address you can open, agree to the terms, and continue. You can also reach this portal from the suppression or Do Not Sell link inside the Instant Checkmate privacy center, which is the long way round to the same page.

  3. 03 Verify your email

    PeopleConnect sends a verification email. Click the link in it. As with every broker on this site, the request does nothing until you confirm, and the confirmation is the step that gets skipped.

  4. 04 Confirm your date of birth and legal name

    Enter your date of birth, tick the verification box, and continue. Then enter your full legal name and confirm it is your legal name. PeopleConnect matches on name plus date of birth, so a nickname or a maiden name will not find the record you are looking at.

  5. 05 Set the record to Suppressed

    Find your record, open the Desired Behavior dropdown, choose Suppressed, and save. Suppressed is the setting that takes it out of the search results. Do this for every record that is yours, including any under a previous address.

  6. 06 Check it in a private window

    Give it a few days, then search Instant Checkmate again in a private browser window so you are not looking at a cached copy of your own listing. While you are there, check TruthFinder, Intelius, and US Search too, and confirm the suppression carried across all four. If a record survived, it is almost always because the email verification expired before it was clicked.
