Employee Data Removal Service for Security Teams

The short answer

An employee data removal service removes your staff's home addresses, phone numbers, and family details from data brokers, so an attacker cannot buy the information needed to impersonate them, pressure them, or turn up at their house. Dataremoval's Business tier covers any headcount, with SSO, an audit log, an SLA, and invoicing. It is in early access.

Your security programme spends real money making it hard to phish an employee. Meanwhile a people-search site publishes that employee's home address, mobile number, and the names of their spouse and children, for free, to anyone who types their name.

That is the raw material for a convincing pretext call, a SIM swap, or a visit.

Built for procurement

  • SSO SAML and OIDC, your identity provider
  • Roles and permissions Security admins, HR, read-only auditors
  • Audit log Every request, every removal, exportable
  • SLA Filing and escalation times, in the contract
  • DPA Data processing agreement, GDPR and CCPA terms
  • Security review We answer your questionnaire, not a link to a badge
  • Invoicing Net terms, PO numbers, annual billing
  • Named contact A person, with a phone number

These are the Business tier's committed scope at launch, not features shipping today. Dataremoval has not launched.

The business case

What one successful pretext call costs you

Social engineering works because the caller knows something they should not. The help desk agent hears the employee's home address and date of birth, and the doubt goes away. Both fields are on a people-search page, free, right now.

Removing them does not make an attack impossible. It removes the cheapest, most reliable source of the details that make one credible, and it does so for the whole staff at once rather than for the executives who asked.

The second case is physical. Customer-facing staff, clinicians, and anyone who has appeared in a news story get found at home. For those people a published address is not a privacy preference. It is a safety problem, and they know it, and they will notice that you fixed it.

The third case is the boring one that actually gets budget: your executives are asking, and every one of them currently has to run these opt-outs personally, on a Sunday.

Worked example, 200 employees

Using the DIY numbers from the homepage calculator.

Employees covered 200
Hours if each person does it alone, per year 3,600
At a $60 fully loaded hourly cost $216,000
Staff who will actually do it unprompted A handful
Executives asking you about this already At least one

The hours figure is arithmetic on your own inputs (18 hours per person per year), not a measured result. The last two rows are the ones that decide it.

Who buys this

Three teams, three reasons

Security

Cut the open-source intelligence available on your staff. Fewer credible pretexts, fewer successful help-desk resets, fewer SIM swaps on the people with production access.

HR and people

A benefit staff notice immediately, because it protects their family too. It costs less than most wellbeing perks and it does something specific.

Executive protection

Continuous coverage for the handful of people whose home address turning up is an incident, with custom removals for the sites outside the standard directory.

Employees can also see the problem for themselves in thirty seconds: the exposure scan stores nothing and needs no account. If you want to understand the mechanics before you buy anything, read how the removal loop works and exactly which fields get removed.

Tell us your headcount

Email how many people you need covered and what your security review needs to see. A person replies, and we will tell you honestly whether we can help you this quarter.
