The trap

Nuwber runs on the same kind of public-records and commercial feeds as the other people-search sites, so removing your listing here does not touch the duplicates on its peers, and a fresh listing can reappear when a new record ties your name to an address. The confirmation email is the request; skip it and nothing is filed.

The method

Nuwber opt-out, step by step

Easy and fast. The only real work is finding every listing, because one person often has several, each with its own URL.

  1. 01 Find your listing

    Search your first and last name and your state in the form on nuwber.com. Nuwber publishes your address, phone numbers, and relatives without a login, which is why it surfaces when someone looks you up. Open the listing that is genuinely you.

  2. 02 Copy the listing URL

    Copy the full URL of your listing from the address bar. Nuwber removes one URL at a time and will not accept a name, so a listing you never opened stays live.

  3. 03 Paste the URL into the opt-out page

    Go to the Nuwber opt-out page, paste the listing URL, and click Opt Out. Enter an email address you can open right now and follow the prompt on the next page. You do not need to be a Nuwber member, and the removal is free.

  4. 04 Click Confirm Request in the email

    Nuwber emails you within a few minutes. Open it and click the Confirm Request button. Nothing happens to your listing until you confirm, and this is the step people skip.

  5. 05 Repeat for every listing, then wait 48 hours

    Search again after a day: records tied to an old address are separate listings with separate URLs, and each needs its own request. The removal itself completes within about 48 hours, though it can take two days to eight weeks for the cached copy to fall out of Google results.
