The short answer

The PeopleConnect Suppression Center at suppression.peopleconnect.us is the single opt-out portal for every PeopleConnect brand, including TruthFinder, Intelius, Instant Checkmate, US Search and ZabaSearch. You verify an email address, enter your legal name and date of birth, then set each record that is yours to Suppressed. Listings usually drop within 72 hours, and up to 10 business days across every property. It is free, and you have to file it yourself: PeopleConnect does not accept requests from a removal service acting for you.

Last updated 5 August 2026. Steps checked against the live portal flow and published third-party documentation on that date. Brokers move their forms, so if a screen does not match what you see, trust the screen.

Which sites one PeopleConnect request covers

PeopleConnect runs close to twenty people-search and background-check properties on shared data. That is why your address turns up on four different sites the same afternoon, and it is also why a single portal request is worth more than any other fifteen minutes you will spend on this.

Swipe the table sideways to see every column.

PeopleConnect brands and what each one publishes, August 2026
Site What it publishes about you Portal coverage
TruthFinder Background reports, criminal records, address history Confirmed
Instant Checkmate Background reports, arrest records, relatives Confirmed
Intelius Address history, phone numbers, relatives, age Confirmed
US Search People search listings, address and phone history Confirmed
ZabaSearch Free name, address and phone lookups Confirmed
Classmates.com Yearbook photos, schools, hometown, full name Verify in your record list
PeopleLookup Name, address and phone listings Verify in your record list
Addresses.com Current and previous street addresses Verify in your record list
DateCheck Background and reputation lookups Verify in your record list
PublicRecords.com Aggregated county and state public records Verify in your record list

The five marked Confirmed are the brands multiple independent sources verify the suppression center reaches. The rest are PeopleConnect properties where the safer move is to check your own record list in the portal rather than assume. If a name you searched still returns a listing on one of them two weeks later, that record was never claimed, and claiming it is a two minute fix.

How to opt out of PeopleConnect, step by step

Fifteen minutes, no cost, no phone call. The two steps people get wrong are the date of birth, which the portal will not let you change afterwards, and the status dropdown, which is the actual request.

  1. Step 1

Go to the suppression portal, not the individual site

The removal route is suppression.peopleconnect.us. This is the single most common place people get stuck: TruthFinder, Intelius and Instant Checkmate each look like they should have their own opt-out form, and the links that do exist on those sites either loop back or point at a page that no longer resolves. Start at the portal.

  2. Step 2

Enter an email address and verify it

The portal is account based. Enter an email you can open right now, then click the confirmation link it sends you. Use an address you intend to keep. If you later need to check a record or file again after a relisting, you sign back in with this same address, and there is no way to move a suppression history to a new one.

  3. Step 3

Enter your legal name and date of birth

PeopleConnect matches on legal name plus date of birth. Enter the name as it appears in public records, which for many people is the full middle name rather than an initial. Take care with the date of birth: the portal treats it as permanent and will not let you correct it later, so a typo here means starting over with a different email address.

  4. Step 4

Add every name you have been published under

The portal accepts alternative names. Add maiden names, married names, hyphenated variants and common misspellings that appear on your listings. PeopleConnect holds separate records for each name variant, and a suppression filed under one name does nothing for a record filed under another.

  5. Step 5

Select every record that is genuinely you

The portal returns a list of matching records across its brands. Match on age and on at least one address you have actually lived at before you claim a record. Claiming a record that is not yours is both a false statement and a fast way to get a request rejected. Records under an address you left ten years ago are still yours, and still need selecting.

  6. Step 6

Set each record to Suppressed and save

Each record has a status dropdown. Change it to Suppressed for every record you selected. This is the step people miss: selecting the records is not the request, changing the status is. You should see the status persist after a page refresh. If it does not, the request did not save.

How long a PeopleConnect suppression takes

Nothing at all happens until you click the verification email, so if a request seems to have stalled, that is the first thing to check.

The part removal services do not advertise

You have to file this one yourself

Most data brokers accept an authorized agent request, which is how a paid removal service covers hundreds of sites without you touching anything. PeopleConnect is the significant exception.

DeleteMe's own help documentation states that PeopleConnect does not honor opt-out requests submitted on a customer's behalf, even with a signed authorization form, and asks customers to submit the request themselves. Optery lists PeopleConnect under Custom Removals rather than its standard automated roster.

So if you are comparing removal services on broker counts, understand that the group behind five of the best-known background-check sites in the United States sits outside what most of them can automate. Any vendor promising a routine hands-off PeopleConnect removal is worth a direct question before you pay.

And it comes back

Suppression hides a record. It does not stop the pipeline that built it. PeopleConnect keeps buying and ingesting county property filings, court records, voter files, utility hookups and marketing lists, and any of those can generate a brand new record your earlier request never claimed.

In practice, a profile suppressed in February is commonly back by the following winter, and it comes back fastest for people whose lives generate records: anyone who moves, buys property, registers a vehicle, changes their name, or files anything with a county clerk.

The practical answer is a calendar reminder every quarter, or something that refiles for you. Doing it once and considering it handled is the most common mistake in this whole category, and it is exactly why people ask whether removal services are worth paying for.

Per-brand guides, if you only care about one site

The portal is the efficient route. But if you found this page because one specific site is showing your address to someone, each brand has its own quirks worth reading first.

PeopleConnect is one group. There are more than forty other US people-search sites publishing the same kind of record, each with its own form, and none of them are covered by anything you do here. Our data broker opt-out list has the working link for each one, and what we remove covers the categories of record these sites actually hold.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PeopleConnect suppression center?

The PeopleConnect Suppression Center at suppression.peopleconnect.us is the single opt-out portal for every website PeopleConnect operates. Instead of filing a separate request with TruthFinder, Intelius, Instant Checkmate, US Search and ZabaSearch, you create one account, claim the records that are yours, and set them to Suppressed in one pass.

How do I opt out of PeopleConnect?

Go to suppression.peopleconnect.us, enter an email address and click the verification link, then enter your legal name and date of birth. The portal returns every matching record across its brands. Select the ones that are genuinely yours and change each record status to Suppressed. Most listings disappear within 72 hours.

Which sites does PeopleConnect own?

PeopleConnect operates close to twenty people-search and background-check properties. The ones the suppression center is confirmed to cover are TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, Intelius, US Search and ZabaSearch. Classmates.com, PeopleLookup, Addresses.com, DateCheck and PublicRecords.com are also PeopleConnect properties, and you should confirm each appears in your record list rather than assuming it was handled.

How long does a PeopleConnect suppression take?

The main search brands normally clear within 72 hours of the request saving. Allow up to 10 business days for the suppression to propagate across every PeopleConnect property before you conclude a record was missed. Nothing happens at all until you click the email verification link, which is the most common reason a request appears to stall.

Does PeopleConnect require a photo ID to opt out?

The standard portal flow asks only for an email address, your legal name and your date of birth. Some PeopleConnect brands request a government ID in edge cases, usually where a record cannot be matched. If you are asked, cover the photograph and the document number before sending it. The company needs to see the name and address, not the rest of the document.

Does removing my TruthFinder record also remove Intelius?

Yes, if you filed through the suppression center rather than through TruthFinder. That is the whole point of the portal: one verified request reaches every PeopleConnect brand holding a record you claimed. What it does not reach is any people-search site outside the PeopleConnect group, and there are more than forty of those publishing US records.

Can a data removal service opt me out of PeopleConnect?

Usually not directly. DeleteMe's own help documentation states that PeopleConnect does not honor opt-out requests submitted on a customer's behalf, even with a signed authorization form, and asks customers to file it themselves. Optery lists PeopleConnect under Custom Removals rather than its standard roster. Treat any service that claims a routine automated PeopleConnect removal with skepticism.

Does my PeopleConnect record come back after suppression?

Commonly within 6 to 12 months. Suppression hides the record you claimed; it does not stop PeopleConnect buying and ingesting the county filings, voter files, utility records and marketing data that built the profile in the first place. A new address, a property transfer or a vehicle registration is enough to generate a fresh record that your earlier request never covered.

Is the PeopleConnect suppression center free?

Yes. There is no charge to create the account or to file a suppression, and there is no paid tier that removes you faster. If a page is asking you to pay to be delisted from a PeopleConnect brand, you are not on the suppression center. The real cost is your time and the fact that you have to keep coming back.
