Refund Policy
In force from . This page is part of our Terms of Service.
Where things stand
- Once a DataRemoval payment goes through, it is not refunded, apart from the three cases listed further down.
- The exposure scan shows you what we found before you pay, so you can decide with the evidence in front of you.
- Switching off renewal takes seconds in your account and stops every future charge.
Why a removal plan is not refunded
A DataRemoval plan is a monthly or yearly subscription. What you buy is our removal service for that period: finding your listings, sending opt-out and deletion requests to brokers in your name, checking that listings disappear and watching for them to return. The limits of each plan are on the pricing page. The price covers the period, not a number of removals, and the service for that period is opened to you in full on the day it starts.
Removal work begins almost immediately. Requests that have gone out to brokers cannot be called back, and the effort behind them cannot be undone. By subscribing, you ask us to start right away and you accept that any statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period ends once we have begun working for you.
Renewals and cancelling
Each plan renews on its own at the end of the period until you turn renewal off. You can do that from your account settings at any time, without writing to us. Turning it off stops the next renewal and every one after it. Your plan keeps running until the paid period ends, and nothing is pro-rated or returned for the days that remain.
When a new period starts, the fee for it falls due at that moment and the service for it is already yours. If your card issuer declines the charge, our payment operator tries it again over the next few days. Those attempts collect one unpaid invoice for a period already under way; they are not extra charges. Cancelling during that time prevents later renewals but leaves the open invoice payable, and once it is collected it is not refunded. To avoid a renewal, cancel before the renewal date shown in your account.
The three cases where we return a charge
- You were billed twice. A fault in our billing charged you more than once for the same period.
- Your card was used without your permission. You report it to us within 14 days of the charge, and the transaction and account records show that the payment was not yours. A statement alone does not decide it; the records do. We may ask you to confirm that you also reported the misuse to your card issuer.
- The service did not work at all. A confirmed fault on our side kept DataRemoval completely unusable for a continuous stretch, you told us while it was happening, and we could not put it right. Slowness, delays from brokers, partial problems, and issues with your own device, browser or connection do not count.
A refund in one of these cases is the whole of our liability. It is capped at what you paid for the period affected and goes back only to the card that was charged. Receiving one refund does not entitle you to another.
Reasons we decline
None of the following leads to a refund of all or part of a payment:
- You changed your mind, or decided you no longer want your listings removed.
- You did not log in, did not complete your profile, or did not add the details brokers need during a paid period.
- A particular broker refused, delayed or ignored a request, or a listing reappeared later. Brokers act on their own timelines and we keep sending requests while your plan is active.
- A listing sits on a site we do not cover, or a result appears in a search engine rather than on a broker site.
- A renewal was charged, including one collected after earlier failed attempts.
- You thought the plan was a one-time payment. Pricing, checkout, the confirmation email and your account all show that it renews.
- You forgot to cancel before the renewal date, or cancelled just after it.
- A feature that is not on the pricing page, or that behaves differently from what you assumed.
- You picked the wrong plan, billing period or number of people.
- Someone else used your account, including a person you shared your login with.
How to ask
Email support@dataremoval.ai from the address on your account within 14 days of the charge. Tell us the date and amount, and which of the three cases above applies. Requests sent later, from another address or through another route are not considered. We work through requests in the order they arrive, we do not promise a response time, and we do not reopen a declined request.
Chargebacks
If a charge looks wrong, write to us first. Opening a chargeback with your bank without contacting us breaches our Terms of Service, and the account is closed permanently. In that case we send the records described below to your card issuer.
What we keep on record
When you create an account you accept our Terms of Service, which include this policy and our Privacy Policy. Checkout shows the plan, the price, the billing period and the fact that it renews before anything is charged, and the same details reach you in the confirmation email.
For each subscription we keep the time of purchase, the plan and price shown at checkout, your acceptance of the terms, the emails we sent you, and a log of account activity such as sign-ins, scans run, profile changes and removal requests sent, with the technical details stored alongside them. Our payment operator keeps its own record of each payment, including where the card was issued, where the payment came from and the outcome of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. Claims of an unauthorised charge are weighed against these records.
Earlier purchases
Payments made before 14 October 2026 stay under the terms that applied on the day you paid. Every payment from that date onward follows this policy.
