Whitepages Opt Out: Remove Information From Whitepages
The short answer
To opt out of Whitepages, find your listing on whitepages.com, copy its URL, submit it at whitepages.com/suppression-requests, then verify by phone. Whitepages calls or texts the number you give and reads out a code you type back into the form. Listings usually disappear within 24 hours of verification.
This guide is free and complete. Follow it and you will be removed from Whitepages without paying anyone, including us. If you would rather not do this 43 more times, that is what Dataremoval is for.

What is exposed
What Whitepages publishes about you
Name, age range, current address, landline and mobile numbers, household members, and property details.
Every one of those fields is removable through the steps below, and every one can reappear later when Whitepages ingests a new public record that matches your name.
Because the same address is usually published with a phone number, plenty of people follow this with removing their phone number from the internet. If the listing is also surfacing in search results, the Google personal information removal request is the separate step that clears the cached page.
The trap
Whitepages also powers 411.com and AnyWho. One suppression request covers the family, but Whitepages Premium data sold to businesses is a separate product, and the consumer suppression form does not reach it.
The method
Whitepages opt-out, step by step
Medium. The phone verification step is the friction, and it is deliberate.
-
01 Locate your listing
Search your name on whitepages.com. Open the person page that matches you. Copy the full URL.
-
02 Start a suppression request
Go to whitepages.com/suppression-requests and paste the listing URL. Whitepages calls this a suppression rather than a deletion, which is accurate: the record survives, and stops being shown.
-
03 Identify the record as yours
Confirm the listing is you and pick a reason for the removal. Answer honestly. A mismatch here is the most common reason a request is rejected.
-
04 Verify by phone
Whitepages asks for a phone number and then calls or texts it with a verification code. Enter the code in the form. There is no way around this step, and the number you use does not have to be the one in the listing.
-
05 Confirm the removal
You get a confirmation email. Listings typically disappear within 24 hours, and can take up to seven days. Search your name again in a week to be sure.

And then the other 43
Whitepages is one of them
The same address you just removed from Whitepages is still published by the other brokers in our directory, and by the marketing aggregators that supply all of them. Removing one is a good afternoon. Removing all of them, and keeping them removed as they refill, is a different kind of job.
Dataremoval files every opt-out for you and re-scans monthly. It is in early access, so joining the list costs nothing and there is nothing to buy. If you are shopping around first, we compare the field in the best data removal services and put the real numbers side by side in how much data removal costs.
Questions
Whitepages opt-out questions, answered
Why does Whitepages require a phone number to opt out?
It is the identity check. Whitepages calls the number you enter within about five minutes and an automated voice reads a four digit code that you type back into the suppression form. The request is not processed without it. The number does not have to be the one in the listing, and it is the single step that stops people finishing the removal.
How long does Whitepages take to remove a listing?
Most verified suppressions take effect within 24 hours, and Whitepages allows itself up to 72. Occasionally a listing drops within the hour. If yours is still live after three days, the usual cause is a verification call that was never completed, which leaves the request in limbo rather than rejecting it outright.
Does the Whitepages opt out cover 411.com?
Yes. 411.com is powered by Whitepages data, so a completed Whitepages suppression clears the matching 411.com listing at no extra cost and with no second form. AnyWho runs on the same family. Search each of the three by name a week later anyway, because a listing under a name variant you did not suppress will survive on all of them.
What is the difference between Whitepages suppression and deletion?
Suppression stops your record being displayed. Deletion would mean the record no longer exists. Whitepages offers the first, not the second, and the wording on its own form is accurate about that. For the practical purpose of someone searching your name and finding your address, suppression achieves the same visible result.
Does Whitepages Premium still show my data after I opt out?
The paid background-report hook attached to your public listing normally disappears along with the listing. What the consumer suppression form does not reach is the data Whitepages licenses to businesses through its commercial products, which is sold under separate terms. If your concern is a business buyer rather than a nosy neighbor, suppression is not the whole answer.
Is the Whitepages opt out free?
Yes, entirely. There is no fee, no account, and no subscription required to suppress a listing, and Whitepages does not offer a paid route that works faster. The only cost is the ten minutes and the phone call.
