PeopleFinders Opt Out: Remove Your Information

The short answer

To opt out of PeopleFinders, go to peoplefinders.com/opt-out, search your name and state, then click Next under Public Record Removal. Enter your name and email, pass the CAPTCHA, and send the request. PeopleFinders emails a verification link that expires in 24 hours; click it and complete the second form. Removal usually takes 3 to 7 days.

This guide is free and complete. Follow it and you will be removed from PeopleFinders without paying anyone, including us. If you would rather not do this 44 more times, that is what Dataremoval is for.

Searching the public web

This runs a real search, so it can take up to about 45 seconds. Nothing is stored.

No broker listing ranked today. That is not the same as being private: search engines demote people-search pages, and the brokers still publish to anyone who searches them directly.

These brokers index US adults and each opt-out link is real and free. We have not checked each one for your name, and we will not pretend otherwise. That is what the full service does.

What is exposed

What PeopleFinders publishes about you

Name, age, address history, phone numbers, relatives, and property records.

Every one of those fields is removable through the steps below, and every one can reappear later when PeopleFinders ingests a new public record that matches your name.

Because the same address is usually published with a phone number, plenty of people follow this with removing their phone number from the internet. If the listing is also surfacing in search results, the Google personal information removal request is the separate step that clears the cached page.

The trap

A PeopleFinders opt-out suppresses the records it controls from its own search results; it does not erase you from its underlying database, and it does not reach the aggregators upstream that refill it. The fastest way to lose your removal is to ignore the 24-hour verification email, so file it when you have your inbox open.

The method

PeopleFinders opt-out, step by step

Easy, but the verification link expires in 24 hours and PeopleFinders shares data with sister sites, so plan to re-check.

  1. 01 Open the PeopleFinders opt-out page

Go to peoplefinders.com/opt-out directly. You do not have to find your public listing first: the opt-out tool has its own search. You can also reach it from the Do Not Sell My Info link in the site footer, which lands on the same form.

  2. 02 Find and select your record

Enter your first and last name and your state, then choose the record that is genuinely you. Match on age and city before you claim it. Under Public Record Removal, click Next to start the request.

  3. 03 Enter your name and email, then send

Fill in your name and an email address you can open in the next few minutes, complete the CAPTCHA, and click Send Request. Use a real inbox you check, not a throwaway, because the next step happens in your email.

  4. 04 Click the verification link within 24 hours

PeopleFinders emails a confirmation link that expires in about a day. Open it, then complete the short second form it opens to confirm the record is yours. The request does nothing until you finish this step, and the expiry is the reason people think they opted out when they did not.

  5. 05 Confirm after 48 hours, then re-check monthly

Most public-record removals finish in 3 to 7 days, though PeopleFinders allows itself up to 15. Search your name on peoplefinders.com in a private window to confirm the listing is suppressed. Then set a reminder for about 30 days out: the site refreshes from public records and partner feeds, so a listing can reappear under a new address.

Steps written against PeopleFinders's live flow in July 2026. Brokers move their forms without notice. If a step has moved, start from their opt-out page and the shape of the process will be the same. Tell us if it has changed: app@dataremoval.ai.

And then the other 44

PeopleFinders is one of them

The same address you just removed from PeopleFinders is still published by the other brokers in our directory, and by the marketing aggregators that supply all of them. Removing one is a good afternoon. Removing all of them, and keeping them removed as they refill, is a different kind of job.

Dataremoval files every opt-out for you and re-scans monthly. If you are shopping around first, we compare the field in the best data removal services and put the real numbers side by side in how much data removal costs.

Questions

PeopleFinders opt-out questions, answered

Where is the PeopleFinders opt out form?

It is at peoplefinders.com/opt-out. Search your name and state there, then click Next under Public Record Removal rather than the marketing opt-out option above it. Picking the wrong one is the most common way people think they filed and did not.

How long does PeopleFinders take to remove your information?

Usually 3 to 7 days after you complete both stages. There are two stages, which trips people up: the initial request, then a verification link that expires within 24 hours and opens a second form you also have to submit. Miss the window and the request lapses silently.

Does a PeopleFinders opt out delete my data permanently?

No. It suppresses your records from PeopleFinders search results. Your data stays in the underlying database, and the aggregators upstream that supply PeopleFinders are untouched, so a fresh record can repopulate the listing. Suppression is the strongest outcome any people-search site actually offers.

Is PeopleFinders the same as BeenVerified or Intelius?

No, they are separate companies with separate opt-out processes, though their data overlaps heavily because they buy from the same public-record and commercial sources. Removing yourself from one has no effect on the others. Both BeenVerified and Intelius need filing separately.

Do I need an account to opt out of PeopleFinders?

No account and no payment. You need a working email address you can open within 24 hours, because the verification link is time limited. Use a real inbox rather than a disposable one, since it is also where any follow-up about the request lands.
