Aura's roster now matches Incogni's 420+, so the real question is price: Incogni sells removal alone for $95.88.

Monthly billing is the expensive route: $15 a month is $180 over a year, $36 more than paying annually, and only annual plans carry the 60-day guarantee. No site-by-site list
Aura publishes a count, not a roster. You cannot check before buying whether the site ranking for your name is covered.
That last point is the one worth sitting with. Aura more than doubled its roster claim between July and September 2026, from 200+ to 425+, and it still does not publish which sites are in it. Earlier independent reviews reported big names such as Spokeo, Intelius and BeenVerified outside Aura's automated coverage, and nothing public tells you whether the new figure changed that. If a specific listing is the reason you are buying, ask Aura's support whether that site is covered during the 14-day trial, before the annual charge. Roster counts across this whole category deserve the same skepticism. There is no shared definition of what counts as a data broker, so 425+ and 420+ and 635+ are not measurements of the same thing. What matters is the twenty or so sites that actually rank when someone types your name.
Who Aura is right for, and who should look elsewhere
Buy Aura if
- You are consolidating subscriptions. Credit monitoring, a VPN, antivirus, password management, and removal on one bill genuinely costs less than buying four products.
- You want identity theft insurance. Aura carries a $1M policy per adult. No dedicated removal service offers this, because it is a different business.
- You are covering a family. Five adults plus unlimited kids at $32 a month annually is competitive against per-seat removal pricing.
- You want one dashboard. Fraud alerts and removal progress in the same place has real operational value if you will actually check it.
Look elsewhere if
- Removal is the entire job. You are paying $144 a year for a 425+ roster when Incogni's $95.88 buys a similar 420+ and Optery's $39 buys 380+.
- You need proof. Aura shows dashboard status. Optery sends before-and-after screenshots of each removal, which is the only evidence standard in this category that a skeptic would accept.
- A specific site is the problem. Without custom removals, an off-roster site stays up. DeleteMe and PrivacyDuck both handle these.
- You already have security tools. If your bank covers credit monitoring and you have a VPN, you are paying twice for the bundle around the removal.
The honest summary: Aura is a good identity protection suite that includes competent data removal. It is not the best data removal service, and it does not claim to be. Buyers get burned when they compare its price against Incogni's and conclude Aura is overpriced, or compare its feature list against Incogni's and conclude Incogni is thin. They are different products aimed at different purchases.

How long does Aura data removal take?
Aura says processing "may take up to 30 days, depending on the broker", and that it rescans broker sites daily and resubmits opt-out requests if your data reappears. Some opt-outs need your authorization before they can be filed, and they show as pending in the dashboard until you give it. Removals are never permanent, which is why the rescanning matters more than the first pass.
Is Aura data removal legit?
Yes. Aura is an established US identity theft protection company, and its removal feature files real opt-out requests and tracks them in a dashboard. The fair criticism is not legitimacy but visibility: removal is one feature inside a security bundle, and Aura publishes a count rather than a list, so you are trusting the 425+ figure without seeing which sites it names.

Does Aura have a money-back guarantee?
Yes, on annual plans. Aura offers a 60-day money-back guarantee on all annual plans and a 14-day free trial on every plan, which can be redeemed once per customer. Aura's data removal page says all plans include the guarantee, but the pricing page limits it to annual plans, so price it as annual only. Even so, that is twice the 30-day window Incogni, Optery and Privacy Bee offer.
Does Aura remove your information from Google?
Aura includes a Google Search Cleanup step: you review your search results, choose the links you want gone, and Aura submits the requests to Google. Can I cancel Aura and keep my removals?
The removals already filed stay filed, but nothing keeps refiling them. This is true of every service in the category. Brokers re-ingest public records continuously, so a profile taken down in March is commonly back by fall unless something resubmits the opt-out. Cancelling buys you a few clean months, not a permanent result.
