The short answer

NordProtect is now Coveron. As of 16 September 2026, nordprotect.com returns a permanent redirect to coveron.com, and the service is still Nord Security's, the company behind NordVPN. The entry plan, Coveron Silver, charged $75.48 for the first year at Nord's checkout and renews at $151.08, double the introductory price. The part most buyers get wrong: Coveron does not remove your data from data brokers. Its own feature list is monitoring, recovery and insurance. Removal appears separately on the homepage as "Extra benefits included: Access to NordVPN and Incogni data removal service", so the removal you are paying for is Incogni, covering 420+ brokers, bundled as a third-party tool. If getting off people-search sites is the whole reason you are shopping, Incogni Standard sells on its own for $95.88.

The Coveron price here was read on 16 September 2026 from Nord's own order page with the currency set to USD. Coveron sells to US residents only and will not serve its plan table to a request from outside the US, so we verified the Silver tier directly and attribute the Gold and Platinum tiers to CyberInsider and Aura rather than asserting them. Competitor rates come from each vendor's own pricing page. We sell a competing product, which is exactly why every number on this page has a source you can check.

NordProtect was renamed Coveron, and most reviews still quote the old price

Nord Security launched NordProtect in 2024 as its identity theft product, sitting alongside NordVPN, NordPass and Incogni. It has since been renamed. Request nordprotect.com today and the server answers with a 301, the permanent kind, pointing at coveron.com. Trustpilot's listing has already moved to coveron.com. Nord's own bundle documentation now writes it as "Coveron (previously NordProtect)".

Search behavior has not caught up, which matters if you are trying to research this before you buy. "NordProtect" still draws roughly 1,300 US searches a month against about 720 for "Coveron", and most of that Coveron volume belongs to an unrelated phone accessory brand ("coveron screen protector" alone is about 880). So the people shopping for this product are mostly still typing the old name, and landing on pages written before the change.

That is the practical problem with the current results. The reviews ranking for "nordprotect review" quote $7.49 a month, $89.88 a year and up to $1 million in coverage. Coveron's site now says up to $2 million, and the checkout we loaded charged $75.48. Before you take any figure from a NordProtect review, including this one, check the date it was written and the date it was last verified.

NordProtect cost: what Coveron charges now

Coveron is sold to US residents, and its pricing route will not render a plan table to a request from outside the United States. Nord's order page will, so that is where the verified row below comes from. We are showing you exactly what we could confirm and exactly what we could not, rather than repeating figures we did not see.

The renewal line is the one worth pausing on. Coveron Silver shows "Save 50%" next to $75.48, and the same checkout page states the renewal price is $151.08 a year. That is not a discount off an inflated list price, it is a genuine introductory rate that doubles in year two. Worth comparing against LifeLock, whose plan pages show the same figure for the first year and the renewal, so a LifeLock Core subscriber at $124.99 pays $124.99 again. Year one, Coveron is cheaper. Year two, it is more expensive.

CyberInsider reports three tiers and puts three-bureau credit monitoring on the top one only. Coveron's own FAQ is consistent with that: it says credit monitoring "scans credit reports from a major credit bureau", singular. If credit monitoring is the reason you are buying, confirm how many bureaus your tier covers before you pay, because one-bureau monitoring leaves two thirds of your file unwatched.

The finding

Coveron does not remove your data. The removal is Incogni, bundled.

This is the single thing to understand before you buy, and it is hiding in plain sight on Coveron's own homepage. When Coveron answers its own question "What is Coveron?", it lists credit monitoring, dark web surveillance, security alerts, identity theft recovery, cyber extortion insurance, home title insurance and online fraud insurance. Data broker removal is not in that list. It appears further up the page, in a card headed "Extra benefits included", which reads: "Access to NordVPN and Incogni data removal service."

Nord's checkout says the same thing in legal language. It discloses that "Incogni is a third-party tool, available to US, UK, EU, Canadian, and Swiss residents only", that buying a plan including it means agreeing to Incogni's separate terms of service and privacy policy, and that the bundled tier is the Incogni Standard plan. CyberInsider's read is consistent: Coveron "taps into the power of Incogni", and the top-tier plan is the one that "includes everything Coveron offers, plus Incogni's automated data cleanup service."

Which parts of a Coveron plan are Coveron and which are third-party tools, checked 16 September 2026
Feature Whose product What Coveron says about it
Dark web monitoring Coveron Scans "24/7" for your email addresses, Social Security number, US phone numbers and card numbers.
Credit monitoring Coveron Coveron's FAQ says it "scans credit reports from a major credit bureau", singular. CyberInsider reports three-bureau monitoring is reserved for the top tier.
Identity theft recovery Coveron Up to $2,000,000 for qualifying expenses: credit bureau reports, document replacement, application fees, notaries, legal fees, lost wages and mental health counseling.
Cyber extortion insurance Coveron Up to $50,000 in expert support and ransom payments, per Coveron's FAQ.
Online fraud insurance Coveron Reimbursement for scam and online shopping fraud, claimed through the account dashboard.
Home title insurance Coveron Listed in Coveron's "What is Coveron?" answer.
Data broker removal Incogni, a third party Not a Coveron feature. The homepage lists it under "Extra benefits included: Access to NordVPN and Incogni data removal service."
VPN NordVPN, a third party Same line, same footing: access to NordVPN comes with the plan rather than being part of Coveron.

None of this makes Coveron a bad product. Bundling a specialist is more honest than what several security suites do, which is to advertise removal and then quietly do less of it than the headline implies. Incogni is a real removal service with a real roster, and it belongs on any shortlist. The point is narrower: if data broker removal is the reason you are about to pay Coveron, you are buying Incogni through an intermediary, on whichever tier includes it, and you can buy it directly instead. Our Incogni review has the standalone prices and what the 420+ figure covers.

What every service advertises, against what the entry plan reaches

We keep this table across every vendor review on the site, because the gap between a headline coverage number and the coverage on the plan you actually buy is where most of the disappointment in this category lives. Coveron is a new shape in it: there is no roster to gate, because there is no roster.

Swipe the table sideways to see every column.

Advertised broker coverage against entry-plan coverage for thirteen services
Service Advertised What the entry plan reaches The catch
Coveron (formerly NordProtect) No roster of its own Nothing. Removal is Incogni, bundled as a third-party tool Coveron's own feature list does not include data broker removal
Cloaked 1,000+ sites 354 tagged data brokers, same on every plan 705 of the 1,059 are companies Cloaked itself tags "Other website"
LifeLock Not published A "smaller set" of brokers, per Norton's own support document Full agent-assisted removal is Privacy Monitor Assistant, sold separately
Malwarebytes 100+ Removals on the paid plan, report only on the free scan Nothing gated by tier, but the roster is the smallest published
Bitdefender Not published No removals at any tier It monitors and shows you the source, you file the opt-outs
Norton over 2,000 368 entries on the roster Norton publishes Its own feature page says "over 200" for the same service
McAfee Not published "Scans only" on McAfee+ Premium Removal starts at McAfee+ Advanced
EasyOptOuts 200+ 218 itemized, one plan Nothing gated, only one plan exists
Incogni 420+ 420+ on all four plans Nothing gated
DeleteMe 986 986 on every plan Nothing gated, the figure is cumulative
Optery 635+ 405+ without Expanded Reach 230 sites per tier, off by default
OneRep 877 318 on Individual and Family 559 non-public brokers, Pro plans only
Privacy Bee 1,132 517 on Essentials 615 brokers, Pro and Signature only

Three patterns run through that table. Specialists gate by tier, so you get fewer brokers on the cheap plan. Security suites gate by whether anything gets removed at all, which is why Bitdefender monitors and hands you the opt-out to file yourself. Coveron is the third shape: nothing is gated by roster because the removal is somebody else's product, and what gets gated is which tier includes it.

If removal is the job, here is what the same money buys

Coveron Silver's $75.48 is real money in this category. Set against services whose entire product is getting your name off people-search sites, here is where it lands. Every price is the standard individual annual rate from the vendor's own page.

Swipe the table sideways to see every column.

Annual price, broker coverage and refund window for nine services
Service Annual price Brokers covered Refund window What you also get
Coveron Silver $75.48 first year, $151.08 after None on this tier 30 days Monitoring, recovery and insurance
EasyOptOuts $19.99 218 itemized 150 days Removal only, rescans 3 times a year
Optery Core $39.00 405+ without Expanded Reach 30 days Free exposure report with screenshots
Incogni Standard $95.88 420+ 30 days Reaches marketing and enrichment brokers
Cloaked Individual $95.99 at checkout 354 tagged brokers 30 days Aliases, call blocking, VPN, $1M insurance
Privacy Bee Essentials $96.00 517 people-search sites 30 days No custom-site takedowns on this tier
OneRep Individual $99.96 318 public sites Money-back guarantee Free 5-day trial
LifeLock Core $124.99 Not published 60 days on annual Identity theft insurance and credit alerts
DeleteMe $129.00 986 No window published Human privacy advisor, quarterly reports

Read that table with your actual problem in mind. Coveron's row is not bad value, it is just answering a different question: it pays out and helps you recover after your identity is misused. It does not shrink the number of sites publishing your address today. For that, EasyOptOuts at $19.99 covers 218 sites with a 150-day refund window, and Optery Core at $39.00 scored highest of the four services Consumer Reports named with a figure in its 2024 test.

Is NordProtect worth it? Who Coveron is right for

Buy it

You want insurance and a case manager

Up to $2 million in recovery expenses, $50,000 for cyber extortion, and a team that handles the claim. At $75.48 for a first year that undercuts LifeLock Core's $124.99. Check the renewal at $151.08 before year two and decide again then.

Think twice

You already pay for NordVPN or Incogni

Two of the headline benefits are products you are already buying. Price the Coveron plan against what you spend today on those two plus what the monitoring and insurance are worth to you on their own, not against the bundle's sticker.

Look elsewhere

You only want your listings taken down

Then buy removal directly. Incogni Standard is $95.88 for the same 420+ brokers Coveron bundles, EasyOptOuts is $19.99 for 218, and Optery Core is $39.00 and shows you screenshots of what it found before you commit.

Whichever way you lean, find out first which sites are publishing you right now, because a person who shows up on eight sites and a person who shows up on eighty should not buy the same thing. The scan at the top of this page is free and takes about a minute. If you would rather see the whole field ranked, the best data removal services roundup compares every service on price, coverage and independent test results, and what we remove lists the sites we file against.

NordProtect and Coveron: common questions

What happened to NordProtect?

NordProtect was renamed Coveron. As of 16 September 2026 nordprotect.com returns a permanent redirect to coveron.com, and the service is still sold by Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN. Your plan, account and features carry over. The reviews you find under the old name were mostly written before the rename and quote the old rate card.

How much does NordProtect cost?

Coveron Silver, the entry plan, charged $75.48 for the first year at Nord's checkout on 16 September 2026, shown as $6.29 a month with a "Save 50%" label. It renews at $151.08 a year, which is double the introductory price. Published reviews still quoting $89.88 a year are working from the pre-rename card.

Does NordProtect remove your information from data brokers?

Not itself. Coveron's own feature list covers dark web monitoring, credit monitoring, identity theft recovery and insurance, with no data broker removal in it. The homepage lists removal separately under "Extra benefits included: Access to NordVPN and Incogni data removal service", so the removal you get is Incogni.

Is NordProtect worth it?

It depends on what you actually want. If you want insurance, credit alerts and a case manager after identity theft, Coveron is priced fairly against LifeLock Core at $124.99. If you want your name off people-search sites, you are buying Incogni with extra steps, and Incogni Standard is $95.88 on its own.

NordProtect vs Incogni: which should I buy?

They are not really rivals. Incogni is a data removal service covering 420+ brokers for $95.88 a year. Coveron is monitoring and insurance that bundles Incogni into its top tier. If removal is your goal, buy Incogni directly. If you want the insurance too, Coveron bundles both, but check which tier includes it.

Which Incogni plan comes with NordVPN?

Nord's checkout discloses that the bundled service is the Incogni Standard plan, and NordVPN's own bundle documentation says the Ultra plan includes Incogni Standard. That is the tier covering 420+ data brokers without custom removals. Incogni Unlimited, which adds custom removals from sites you report, is a separate upgrade.

Is Coveron available outside the United States?

No. Coveron states it is available in the United States, and its identity protection benefits are available in US territories and the District of Columbia with the exception of New York residents. The bundled Incogni service has a wider footprint, covering US, UK, EU, Canadian and Swiss residents.

Does Coveron have a money-back guarantee?

Yes. Coveron offers a 30-day money-back guarantee with, in its words, "full access to all features and benefits" during that window. That is shorter than LifeLock's 60 days on annual plans and much shorter than EasyOptOuts, which runs a 150-day refund window on its single $19.99 plan.

How much identity theft insurance does Coveron include?

Coveron says victims can receive up to $2,000,000 for qualifying expenses such as credit bureau reports, document replacement, application fees, notaries, legal fees, lost wages and counseling, plus up to $50,000 for cyber extortion. CyberInsider reports a $100 deductible per incident. Insurance benefits exclude New York residents.

Is Coveron the same company as NordVPN?

Both are Nord Security products. Coveron markets itself as "by the creators of NordVPN" and you sign in with a Nord Account. NordVPN and Incogni are still presented at checkout as third-party tools with their own terms of service, so a Coveron subscription means agreeing to three sets of terms, not one.
