The short answer
Zander sells two plans: Essential at $75 a year ($6.75 a month) and Elite at $130 a year ($11.99), with family versions at $145 and $240 that cover two adults and up to 10 children. Both are built around recovery and up to $1 million in reimbursement. Neither includes credit monitoring, which Zander leaves out on purpose, and neither removes you from data broker or people-search sites.
Prices, plan features and the family terms are from Zander's own plan page and FAQ. We sell a competing removal service, which is why every Zander figure here is Zander's, not ours.
Zander pricing
How much is Zander identity theft protection?
Zander Essential costs $75 a year or $6.75 a month for one person, and that headline price is the reason most people buy it. Annual billing saves about 7 percent on Essential and about 10 percent on Elite. The family plans are unusually generous on headcount: any two adults, plus up to 10 children under 18 in the household at no extra charge, with limited benefits for adult dependents.

| Plan | Per year | Monthly | Stolen funds and expenses | Broker removal | Credit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zander Essential Individual | $75.00 | $6.75 | Up to $1 million | No | No |
| Zander Essential Family | $145.00 | $12.90 | Up to $2 million | No | No |
| Zander Elite Individual | $130.00 | $11.99 | Up to $1 million | No | Experian CreditLock only |
| Zander Elite Family | $240.00 | $21.99 | Up to $2 million | No | Experian CreditLock only |
At $75, Zander Essential is the cheapest plan from a mainstream identity theft brand that includes managed recovery and a seven-figure reimbursement limit. LifeLock Core is $124.99, IDX Identity Essentials $107.52 and Aura Individual $144. Zander also has the most generous family headcount of the four. What you give up for that price is everything on the prevention side, which the next table shows.
What does Zander ID theft cover?
Zander covers recovery from every type of identity theft, reimburses stolen funds and related costs such as legal fees and lost wages, and watches for your details turning up where they should not. Elite widens the watch list to your home title and financial accounts and adds a VPN, antivirus and a credit lock. The last two rows are the ones reviews tend to skip.

Zander says it monitors your personal information "on 600,000 databases across the country". That line gets read as a removal promise more often than it should. Monitoring means Zander looks for your data and tells you when it finds something suspicious. It does not ask anyone to delete it, and nothing on either plan files an opt-out with a people-search site.
Zander review
Two things the price does not tell you
Does Zander include credit monitoring?
No, and Zander says so on purpose
Zander's FAQ asks "Is this the same as credit monitoring?" and answers no. Its reasoning: credit monitoring sold as a service is expensive, the three bureaus let you pull your reports free (weekly, at annualcreditreport.com), and monitoring does not stop theft anyway, so Zander keeps its price down by leaving it out. Elite does include Experian CreditLock, which locks one bureau file against new applications. A lock is not an alert, and it covers one bureau of three.
That is a defensible position. It does mean the job of noticing a new account moves to you. A free credit freeze at Equifax, Experian and TransUnion does more than one lock, and costs nothing.
Is Zander identity theft insurance?
Not in Zander's own words
Zander Insurance is an insurance agency, and people search for "Zander identity theft insurance" 320 times a month. But the footer of the plan page is plain: "This is not an insurance product. This is an administrative services contract, with restoration and ancillary reimbursement benefits." The up to $1 million figure is a reimbursement benefit for stolen funds and expenses tied to an identity theft event.
In practice that is still a generous limit. LifeLock Core, for comparison, reimburses up to $25,000 in stolen funds inside its $1.05 million headline. Read Zander's terms for exclusions before you rely on the full figure.
Does Zander remove your information from data brokers?
No. That matters because the most common way an identity thief, a scammer or a stalker finds your home address, age, relatives and phone number is a people-search site that sells it for a few dollars. Zander will help you clean up after the damage. It will not take the listing down that made it easy.
Step 1
Keep Zander for recovery
If you bought it on a recommendation, the recovery team and reimbursement are the strong part. Nothing below replaces them.
Step 2
Scan for broker listings
Run the scan at the top of this page to see which people-search sites are publishing your address and phone number today.
Step 3
Add a removal service
Pick one that files the opt-outs for you and rescans, because brokers relist you from fresh public records within months.
Step 4
Freeze your credit
Place a free freeze at all three bureaus. It closes the gap Zander leaves on new accounts better than one lock.
You can file the opt-outs by hand, and our data broker opt-out list has the forms for the big sites. Most people give up after the first ten, because each broker has its own verification step and many relist you within a few months. That repeat work is what a removal service is for.
What Zander plus removal costs, against the all-in-one suites
Because Zander is so cheap, adding a dedicated removal service on top often still costs less than a suite that bundles both. Zander Essential plus EasyOptOuts comes to $94.99 a year, which is $30 less than LifeLock Core, with a larger and published broker list and a higher reimbursement limit. The trade is credit monitoring: LifeLock and Aura include it, and the Zander stack does not.

| Zander Elite + EasyOptOuts | $149.99 | Elite monitoring and CreditLock, plus 216 broker domains | None, CreditLock is a lock |
| LifeLock Core | $124.99 | Removal from a smaller, unpublished set every 90 days | Two bureaus |
| IDX Privacy | $139.92 | Over 100 brokers, monthly rescan | None |
| Aura Individual | $144 | 425+ sites | Three bureaus |
LifeLock, IDX and Aura figures are their own published annual rates for one adult. EasyOptOuts removed 65 percent of listings in the 2024 Consumer Reports test of seven removal services, on the only plan it sells. Is Zander identity theft insurance worth it? It depends what you want covered
You want recovery at the lowest price
Zander Essential, $75 a year
Unlimited US-based recovery and up to $1 million reimbursement for less than any mainstream rival. Pair it with a free credit freeze and you have covered the basics.
You are covering a big household
Zander Essential Family, $145 a year
Two adults and up to 10 children for $145. LifeLock charges $344.99 for a comparable headcount on Core.
You want your address off people-search sites
Add a removal service
Zander does not do this on any plan. EasyOptOuts at $19.99 or Incogni at $95.88 sit alongside it without overlap.
You want removal and credit alerts in one bill
Aura Individual, $144 a year
425+ broker sites and three-bureau credit monitoring. See our Aura data removal review for what that covers.
You want a suite with removal for less
LifeLock Core, $124.99 a year
Two-bureau credit monitoring and removal from a smaller, unpublished set of brokers every 90 days.
You want a person on the stubborn brokers
DataRemoval, from $9 a month billed yearly
Our own plan: a human works the brokers that reject automated requests, we rescan monthly, and you get a dated log of every request. It sits next to Zander without overlap.
Zander earns its recommendation on the recovery side. Our view, as a company that sells the other half: it is a good plan to own after something goes wrong, and it does nothing about the public listings that make things go wrong in the first place. If you are comparing removal services to put next to it, our ranking of the best data removal services prices the field, and the EasyOptOuts review covers the cheapest one that tested well.
Zander identity theft protection: common questions
How much is Zander identity theft protection?
Zander Essential costs $6.75 a month or $75 a year for one person, and $12.90 a month or $145 a year for a family. Zander Elite, which adds home title, bank and account takeover monitoring plus a VPN and antivirus, costs $11.99 a month or $130 a year, or $21.99 a month and $240 a year for a family.
How much is Zander Elite?
Zander Elite Individual is $11.99 a month or $130 a year, and Elite Family is $21.99 a month or $240 a year. Elite adds home title monitoring, bank, retirement, card and loan account monitoring, account takeover and new account alerts, UltraVPN, UltraAV antivirus, Experian CreditLock and a password manager to everything in Essential.
What does Zander ID theft cover?
Zander covers recovery from all types of identity theft with an unlimited, US-based recovery team, reimbursement of up to $1 million for stolen funds and expenses ($2 million on family plans), and monitoring of your personal details, Social Security number and change of address. It does not include credit monitoring or removal from data broker sites on any plan.
Does Zander include credit monitoring?
No. Zander answers this in its own FAQ: it does not charge for credit monitoring because you can pull your reports free from the three bureaus at annualcreditreport.com, and it argues the real value is recovery. Elite includes Experian CreditLock, which locks one bureau file. It does not alert you to changes on any of the three reports.
Is Zander identity theft insurance worth it?
For recovery and reimbursement at the lowest price in the category, yes: $75 a year is hard to beat. Note that Zander states its plan is not an insurance product but an administrative services contract with reimbursement benefits. It is not worth it if you want your address off people-search sites, because no Zander plan does that.
Does Zander remove your information from data brokers?
No. Neither the Essential nor the Elite plan lists data broker or people-search removal. Zander monitors your information across 600,000 databases and alerts you, which is detection, not deletion. To get off sites like Whitepages or Spokeo you need a separate removal service, which costs from $19.99 a year.
Zander vs LifeLock: which is better?
Zander is cheaper and reimburses more: $75 a year with up to $1 million for stolen funds and expenses, against LifeLock Core at $124.99 with $25,000 for stolen funds. LifeLock includes two-bureau credit monitoring and removes you from a smaller set of data brokers every 90 days, and Zander does neither.
Zander vs Aura: which should I pick?
Aura Individual costs $144 a year and bundles three-bureau credit monitoring, removal from 425+ data broker sites, and $1 million insurance. Zander Essential costs $75 and covers recovery and reimbursement only. If you want one bill for everything, Aura; if you want the cheapest recovery plan and will add removal separately, Zander.
Is Zander identity theft good?
Zander is a legitimate Nashville company, and its recovery-first plan is the cheapest credible one sold in the US. Reviewers mark it down for the missing credit monitoring and a basic app. Judge it by what you need: recovery and reimbursement, it does well; prevention on people-search sites, it does not attempt.
