The short answer

IdentityForce is a solid TransUnion-owned monitoring service with four plans from $199.90 to $399.90 a year. It is one of the few in its class that refunds unused time when you cancel. It does not remove your name, address or phone number from data broker or people-search sites on any plan.

Identity Force plans

Identity Force plans and cost, read off the pricing page

IdentityForce sells two tiers, each as an individual or a family plan. The only real split is credit: the UltraSecure tier does not look at your credit file at all, and the +Credit tier watches all three bureaus. Several review sites still quote $17.99 and $23.99 a month. IdentityForce’s own page has shown $19.90 and $34.90 in every capture since April 2025.

IdentityForce and data brokers

Does IdentityForce remove personal information from data brokers?

No. We read every line of the four plan cards and the feature notes under them. Removal from data brokers or people-search sites is not on the page, not as a feature, not as an add-on. IdentityForce watches for misuse of your data. It does not take the data down.

What IdentityForce watches

  • Dark web monitoring around the clock, with a risk score for each hit
  • Advanced fraud monitoring (new accounts, payday loans, address changes)
  • Credit file at TransUnion daily, plus Experian and Equifax alerts (credit tiers only)
  • Phishing and botnet monitoring (credit tiers only)
  • Child credit activity and social media watch (family plans)
  • A personal action plan and an identity safety score

That puts IdentityForce in the same group as Identity Guard, Zander and the retail Allstate plans, and below LifeLock and Aura, which both include some removal. If what worries you is a stranger finding your home address in thirty seconds, run the scan at the top of this page. The sites that list you today are the ones an IdentityForce plan will leave in place.

The rare good clause

IdentityForce refunds the months you do not use

The pricing page FAQ says that when you cancel, “your membership ends immediately. You will not be billed again and all purchases offer a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the services.” Experian and IdentityIQ refund nothing at all, and LifeLock and Aura only refund annual plans in the first 60 days.

Example: UltraSecure+Credit, $349.90 paid yearly, cancelled after 3 months

3 months used About $262.43 back

Our arithmetic on a straight monthly split. IdentityForce calculates the exact figure.

The clause to act on the same day

Credit features stay off until you verify your identity

“If you do not verify your identity, you will not receive your enhanced services. Please keep in mind that if you are paying for this service, the full price of your package will not change even if you do not receive the enhanced services.”

So a +Credit plan with an unfinished identity check costs $349.90 and works like the $199.90 plan. If the online check fails, IdentityForce asks you to call 888-676-1340. Do it before the first month is out, and log in to confirm the TransUnion score appears.

Cigna identity force

If you have IdentityForce through Cigna or your employer

Many people first meet IdentityForce as a benefit. Cigna offers an IdentityForce program to members of many of its medical plans at no added cost for the member and household, for as long as the Cigna coverage lasts, and other employers include it in their benefits menus. The exact features depend on the employer’s contract.

Two moments turn a benefit user into a buyer. The first is when the coverage ends, with a job change or a new insurer, and the monitoring stops. The second is when someone realizes that the benefit, like the retail plans, never touched their listings on people-search sites. In both cases the question is the same: keep paying for monitoring, add removal, or move to one suite that does both.

  • Losing the benefit and want the same thing: UltraSecure at $199.90, with a 30-day trial first.
  • Keeping the benefit and want privacy: add a removal service. Nothing overlaps.
  • Replacing it with one bill: Aura Individual at $144 includes 3-bureau monitoring and removal from 425+ sites.

IdentityForce alternatives

IdentityForce cost against the plans buyers compare it with

For one adult, IdentityForce is on the expensive side, and UltraSecure is the dearest plan in this table that does no credit monitoring. It wins back ground on refunds, and on family pricing, where two adults and up to 10 children cost $249.90 or $399.90.

Swipe the table sideways to see every column.

IdentityForce compared with LifeLock, Aura, IdentityIQ, Experian and EasyOptOuts on yearly price for one adult, broker removal, credit monitoring and refund terms
Plan A year Broker removal Credit Refund

IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit $349.90 None 3 bureaus Pro rata for unused time
LifeLock Core $124.99 Smaller unpublished set, every 90 days 2 bureaus 60 days, annual only

Experian IdentityWorks Premium $299.88 Unpublished list, monthly scan 3 bureaus None

How to buy IdentityForce without the complaints in IdentityForce reviews

The bad reviews cluster around three things: a trial that converted unnoticed, credit features that never switched on, and a privacy problem the plan was never going to solve. Four steps cover all three.

  1. Day 1

    1

    Start on UltraSecure, not +Credit

Only UltraSecure has the 30-day trial. If you are not sure you need credit monitoring, freeze your credit at all three bureaus (free by law) and start here.

  2. Day 1

    2

    Finish the identity check

On a +Credit plan, verify your identity the same day. Until you do, you pay the full price for the cheaper plan.

  3. Day 25

    3

    Decide before the trial ends

Put a reminder five days before day 30. Cancel in the dashboard under Protection Plan, or call 877-694-3367.

  4. Any day

    4

    Check the people-search sites separately

Run the scan at the top of this page. If it finds you, add removal, because no IdentityForce plan will touch those listings.

Shopping for a mortgage or loan

Experian Premium, monthly

Daily FICO Scores for the months you shop, then cancel. No refunds, so time it.

Wants a person on the stubborn brokers

DataRemoval, from $24 a month billed yearly

Our own plan: a human works the brokers that reject automated requests, we rescan monthly, and you get a dated log of every request. It sits beside IdentityForce without overlap.

Our view, as a company that sells the removal half: IdentityForce is honest about what it is. It is a monitoring and restoration service with fair billing, and it never claims to clean up people-search sites. Buy it for that. If listings are the problem, compare the plans on our pricing page or see how a suite with partial removal handles it in our LifeLock data broker removal breakdown.

IdentityForce reviews and common questions

Is IdentityForce legit?

Yes. IdentityForce is a long-running US identity theft protection service owned by TransUnion, one of the three credit bureaus, and it delivers the dark web, fraud and credit monitoring it sells. Complaints are mostly about billing after a trial and about app reliability, not about the service being fake.

How much does IdentityForce cost?

IdentityForce UltraSecure costs $19.90 a month or $199.90 a year for one adult, and UltraSecure+Credit costs $34.90 a month or $349.90 a year. Family plans for two adults and children cost $24.90 a month or $249.90 a year, and $39.90 a month or $399.90 a year with credit monitoring.

Is IdentityForce worth it?

It is worth it for credit and fraud monitoring if you like TransUnion data and want the option of a pro-rated refund. It is not worth it for privacy: no plan removes your name, address or phone number from data broker or people-search sites. For both jobs in one bill, Aura costs $144 a year.

Does IdentityForce have a free trial?

Yes, but only on the plans without credit monitoring. UltraSecure and UltraSecure Family come with a 30-day free trial, then bill monthly or yearly unless you cancel before the trial ends. UltraSecure+Credit and its family version have no trial and are charged from the first day.

Does IdentityForce remove personal information from data brokers?

No. None of the four IdentityForce plans lists data broker or people-search removal. It watches the dark web, fraud signals and your credit, but your listings on sites like Spokeo, Whitepages and BeenVerified stay where they are. You need a separate removal service, or a suite such as Aura that includes it.

Is IdentityForce free with Cigna?

For many Cigna medical plan members, yes. Cigna offers an IdentityForce program to covered employees and their households at no added cost for as long as the Cigna coverage lasts, though details vary by employer. When the coverage ends, so does the free plan, and the retail prices on this page apply.

How do I cancel IdentityForce?

Log in to the member dashboard, open the drop-down menu at the top right, choose the Protection Plan tab and click Cancel under your current plan. You can also call Member Services at 877-694-3367. IdentityForce says the membership ends immediately and you are not billed again.

Does IdentityForce give refunds?

Yes, which is unusual in this category. The IdentityForce pricing page says all purchases offer a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the services when you cancel. Experian and IdentityIQ refund nothing, and LifeLock and Aura refund only annual plans within 60 days.

Who owns IdentityForce?

TransUnion. IdentityForce was built by Sontiq, which TransUnion bought in 2021, and the pricing page now carries a TransUnion copyright. That is why the credit tier includes a daily TransUnion credit report and score rather than daily data from Experian or Equifax.

Is IdentityForce better than LifeLock?

IdentityForce is better for families and for anyone who wants a trial or a pro-rated refund. LifeLock is cheaper for one adult, at $124.99 a year for Core, and includes some data broker removal about every 90 days. At the top tier the two cost almost the same, $349.90 against $349.99.

IdentityForce watches for misuse. Your address is still listed.
