The short answer

Experian IdentityWorks Premium costs $24.99 a month for one adult and $34.99 for a family, with no annual price on Experian’s own plan page, so a year is $299.88. It buys strong credit data (three bureaus, daily FICO Scores). It does not buy a refund, ever, and its people-search removal covers a list of sites Experian does not publish.

Experian Premium cost

What a year of Experian Premium membership costs

Experian sells Premium one way: a 7-day trial, then $24.99 plus sales tax every month. There is no yearly plan to discount it, so the total for one adult climbs in equal steps to $299.88. The Family plan, which adds one more adult and identity monitoring for up to 10 children, runs $34.99 a month or $419.88 a year.

$24.99 a month

$299.88 over twelve months, before sales tax. Experian billing starts on day 7 of the trial.

Family, 2 adults and up to 10 kids

$34.99 a month

$419.88 a year. The second adult gets full Premium; children under 18 get identity monitoring.

Basic

Free

Experian-only monitoring, a FICO Score, a one-time dark web report and a one-time privacy scan with no removal.

Several reviews that rank for Experian IdentityWorks cost still quote $19.99 a month, $199.99 a year or $249.99 a year. None of those prices appears on Experian’s plan page as of 2 October 2026. If a checkout shows one of them, you are probably on a partner or sponsored offer, and its own terms apply.

What Premium includes

What the $24.99 actually buys, sorted by job

Experian’s plan card lists twenty lines. Sorted by what they do, most of the money goes to credit data and alerts, which Experian is well placed to deliver. The privacy column is the thin one.

Credit

Strong

  • 3-bureau credit monitoring and alerts
  • Daily Experian FICO Scores
  • 3-bureau report and FICO Scores, quarterly
  • Experian CreditLock with alerts

Identity alerts

Strong

  • Dark web, SSN trace and change of address alerts
  • Court records, booking and sex offender registry alerts
  • Non-credit loan, social network and identity validation alerts
  • Up to $1 million identity theft insurance (AIG), fraud resolution, lost wallet help

Privacy

Thin

  • Monthly privacy scans of people finder sites
  • "Help getting personal info removed from covered people finder sites"
  • No count and no list of covered sites published
  • Nothing about the marketing data Experian itself sells

Experian data removal

Does Experian Premium remove your information from people search sites?

Partly, and you cannot check how much before paying. Premium includes “monthly privacy scans & help getting personal info removed from covered people finder sites.” Experian does not say how many sites are covered or which ones. The free Basic tier runs the same scan once and leaves every opt-out to you.

Three words in that sentence carry the weight. Monthly: listings relist all the time, and Aura says it rescans daily. Help: Experian’s plan page does not promise to file every request for you. Covered: a list you cannot see is a list you cannot hold anyone to. Aura publishes 425+ sites, Incogni 420+ and DeleteMe a 986-site list.

Experian also runs this engine for other brands. IdentityIQ’s terms name “CSID aka Experian Consumer Services” as the agent that files its removals, as we cover in our IdentityIQ review, and Costco’s closed Complete ID plan ran on Experian too. Our Experian Personal Privacy Scan review goes through the scan itself screen by screen.

Experian IdentityWorks terms, revised 2/16/2026

The refund clause most Experian reviews skip

“We do not provide refunds for any membership, prorated or otherwise.”

The terms print it in capitals, and it applies to you and to any employer or company that sponsored the membership. You keep access until the end of the month in which you cancel. That makes the 7-day trial the only point where leaving costs nothing.

Cancelling may not close the account

The terms say cancelling a paid service can move you to the free CreditWorks Basic membership. Deactivating the account is a separate request.

Promo prices revert

A discounted monthly fee lasts only for its Discount Term, then the standard rate bills automatically unless you cancel first.

Compare the refund windows

LifeLock and Aura give 60 days on annual plans; Incogni and Optery 30 days; EasyOptOuts 150 days.

Experian Premium free trial

How the Experian Premium free trial runs, day by day

The footnotes under Experian’s plan cards describe the trial more honestly than the button does. The part to notice is day 4: two of the three bureaus may not be watching you before the first charge.

  1. Day 0

    Card on file

A credit card is required to start the 7-day trial of Premium or Family.

  2. Within 48 hours

    Experian monitoring starts

Your Experian file is watched first.

  3. About day 4

    Equifax and TransUnion

Experian says these take about 4 days and in some cases cannot start during the trial at all.

  4. Day 7

    First $24.99 charge

Cancel before then or the membership continues at $24.99 plus sales tax each month, $34.99 for Family.

If you are testing Premium mainly for the people-search removal, use the trial to ask support which sites are covered and to see what the first scan finds. If the answer is vague, cancel before day 7 and compare it with a service that publishes its list.

One paid tier, $24.99 a month

Experian IdentityWorks review

Is Experian IdentityWorks legitimate, and why it has three names

Yes, it is legitimate. Experian is one of the three national US credit bureaus, the plans are sold on experian.com, and the insurance is underwritten by AIG subsidiaries. The confusion is the naming, which makes comparison shopping harder than it should be.

The plan card says Premium. The billing fine print says Experian IdentityWorks Premium. The terms call the free tier Experian CreditWorks Basic, and plenty of reviews call the paid one CreditWorks Premium. They are the same purchase. What matters is the number at checkout, $24.99 a month, and the terms attached to it.

If you got an Experian IdentityWorks code in a data breach letter, that is a different, sponsored membership with its own end date. When it expires, the terms say you can be moved to the free membership, so you will not be billed $24.99 unless you choose Premium.

Is Experian Premium worth it? Match the plan to the job

Shopping for a mortgage or car loan

Experian Premium, then cancel

Daily FICO Scores and a three-bureau report while you shop rates. Cancel near the end of a billing month, because nothing is refunded.

Wants three-bureau alerts for less

IdentityIQ Secure Pro, $219.19 a year

Three bureaus and two full reports a year, about $80 under Experian. No refunds there either.

Wants a refund window

LifeLock Core, $124.99 a year

Two bureaus, a smaller set of broker removals every 90 days, and 60 days to change your mind on annual plans.

Wants alerts and removal in one bill

Aura Individual, $144 a year

Three bureaus and removal from 425+ sites, less than half of a year of Experian Premium.

Wants the household covered

Experian Family or Aura Family

Experian Family is $419.88 for two adults and 10 children; Aura Family covers five adults for $384.

Wants a person on the stubborn brokers

DataRemoval, from $24 a month billed yearly

Our own plan: a human works the brokers that reject automated requests, we rescan monthly, and you get a dated log of every request. It runs beside Experian Basic or Premium without overlap.

Our view, as a company that sells the removal half: Experian Premium is a good credit product with a privacy feature you cannot audit. If people-search listings are the worry, compare the plans on our pricing page with the suites above, or see how LifeLock handles the same problem in our LifeLock data broker removal breakdown.

Experian Premium questions buyers ask before the first charge

How much is Experian Premium membership?

Experian Premium (IdentityWorks Premium) costs $24.99 a month plus sales tax for one adult, and the Family plan costs $34.99 a month for two adults and up to 10 children. Experian's plan page shows no annual price, so a year of Premium is $299.88 and a year of Family is $419.88 before tax.

Is Experian Premium worth it?

It is worth it if you want daily Experian FICO Scores, three-bureau alerts and quarterly three-bureau reports in one app. It is weak value for privacy: the removal help covers an unpublished list of people finder sites, rescans monthly, and there are no refunds. Aura gives three bureaus plus removal from 425+ sites for $144 a year.

Is Experian Premium free?

No. Experian Basic is free and includes Experian-only credit monitoring, a FICO Score, a one-time dark web report and a one-time privacy scan. Premium starts with a 7-day trial that needs a credit card and then bills $24.99 a month unless you cancel within those 7 days.

Does Experian Premium remove your information from people search sites?

Partly. Premium includes monthly privacy scans and, in Experian's words, help getting personal info removed from covered people finder sites. Experian does not publish how many sites are covered or which ones. The free Basic scan only shows the listings and leaves the opt-outs to you.

Is Experian CreditWorks Premium the same as IdentityWorks Premium?

They describe the same paid tier. Experian's plan page sells it as Premium, and the fine print under the cards calls it Experian IdentityWorks Premium at $24.99 a month. Experian's terms call the free tier Experian CreditWorks Basic, and many reviews call the paid one CreditWorks Premium. Check the price at checkout, not the name.

Does Experian give refunds?

No. The Experian IdentityWorks terms, revised 16 February 2026, say in capitals that Experian does not provide refunds for any membership, prorated or otherwise. You keep access until the end of the month in which you cancel. The only free exit is cancelling within the 7-day trial.

How do I cancel Experian Premium membership?

Cancel through Customer Care or the cancel option in your Experian membership center, which the terms both allow. Cancelling the paid plan can move you to the free CreditWorks Basic account rather than closing it, so ask to deactivate the account too if you want it gone. Access runs to the end of that month.

Does Experian Premium have an annual plan?

Not on Experian's own plan page, which lists only $24.99 a month for Premium and $34.99 for Family. Some reviews quote $199.99 or $249.99 a year, but we could not find either price on Experian's site on 2 October 2026. Budget $299.88 a year for one adult.

Is Experian better than LifeLock?

For credit data, Experian Premium is the better buy: three bureaus and daily FICO Scores for $299.88 a year against $349.99 for LifeLock Total. LifeLock wins on refunds (60 days on annual plans), on stolen funds cover, and on price at the low end, where Core costs $124.99. Neither publishes its broker list.

What is the difference between Experian IdentityWorks Plus and Premium?

Experian's own plan page sells only three tiers today: Basic (free), Premium ($24.99 a month) and Family ($34.99 a month). Plus does not appear on it. If you are offered Plus, it is a partner, sponsored or older membership, so put its feature list next to Premium's three-bureau monitoring and check the price at checkout.
